It’s been quite a long long time since I’ve actually sat down in front of my lappy and type down words travelling through my mind. How’s everything? Everything’s fine I supposed. Changed, but fine. Change is good at times, there’s been some major and minor changes in me and around me.
Before I start rattling all about myself throughout this maybe-going-to-be-very-long post, I would like to say this to Wen Jie. Although I’ve never knew you, nor have I seen you recently, but you were still my acquaintance and may you rest in peace. God bless all of those who just lost a loved one, a friend, a child.
Midnight Puppet’s concert was overall a success… if, you (I) don’t point your finger and dig through its bones and skeletone. If you’ve haven’t seen it, we’re on some of the major newspapers… The Star, News Straits Times, NanYang Siang Pau, DongFang… and etc. Our articles are spread online as well, kakiseni.com and other forums around where we (the littlenoise makers) hang about. Friendster of course… I’ve seen quite a few blogs posting about us. Including mine, definitely.
So… where shall I start? Feelings? I’m glad everything turned out to be okay, the performance was generally great, the singing was okay except for the whoops-forgot-lyrics-because-i’m-nervous and shakey-pitches. I’m also glad everybody liked the songs I wrote and people can’t stop asking when is the soundtrack album gonna debut. I’m also very glad that everyone’s singing my songs, although they edited the lyrics to suit their siturations… "Maybe we are all stuck, in this horrible trafic jam" ; "He’s back! He’s back! The bak kut teh fellow is back!" ; "Oh…. hear me sing, why is it raining so terribly heavily today?" ; "Show me, tell me, I’m not having algebra with him…" ; and etc.
The musical’s favorites among audiences are:
1) Rudolph - Yee Iee
2) The three fairy godmothers - KhaiShin, PuiMun and SinYue
3) Lin - JiaRong
And so far the top three favorite songs among audiences are:
1) Maybe
2) Hear me Sing
3) She’s back
The audiences on saturday were much more warm, and laughed a lot compared to the audiences on sunday. Maybe it’s because most of the suns people are chinese educated? Hrm. Don’t know. But the noisemakers, who are all stage-lovers tend to perform better when there’s more people watching them, more laughters and more claps. So, I would say Saturday’s mood and energy level for the littlenoise choir was higher than Sunday’s. But the sticky situations on Saturday was also MORE compared to Sunday’s. Then again… overall, it was oo-kay.
I myself? Of course I was nervous, I even managed to fly my ding-ding (small bell) away onto one of the audience’s lap. Lolx. Malu gila! Plus, I seriously do look like some maniac waving the glowing stick in the middle of the very dark hall. But I don’t really think too much about me when I was conducting… my brain was too full of other things that involved the musical. My so-called supposingly "best" and "closest" friends, who promised to attend my production, didn’t turn up on both days. So I was pretty down on the inside, when I think of their absence. Even till now. Cheers to them though, what is, has been and always will be.
I watched the Saturday’s Midnight Puppet DVD we video-recorded yesterday night, but couldn’t exactly concentrate a hundred percent watching it because my new-made-getting-closer-still-friend had some problems. So… if you call yourself a close friend, what to do lar. Right? ;P I’m going to watch it again with all of the littlenoise makers on saturday during our annual meeting.
28 days before I leave for Beijing… the air tickets are settle, I’m going to do my student visa tomorrow. And I’ll be leaving sooner than I know… I can’t wait to leave, I can’t wait for the taste of freedom to touch my lips again. But I will miss all my new found friends here during the short 5 months of stay I came back for the musical. I will also miss everybody from LittleNoise, I will miss LittleNoise too. I pray and hope that the choir will live on forever and one day it’ll appear on the front cover of TIMES! Lolx. Or have full coverage on CNN… Hahahax. Nobody knows what our future holds for us, but let’s keep our fingers cross and hope that littlenoise will grow on.
